The not so picturesque Alacante

So day 2 of our 4 port days was in Alicante, which appeared to be very different from Malaga from the start.

We decided to walk, rather than use the shuttle bus from the ship as it was only a 15 minute walk to the start of the harbour. Walking along we noticed that there had been a festival recently which was being dismantled, but apart from that no shops, bars or anywhere really on the dock, a sharp contrast to Malaga.

Interestingly there was the above ship docked opposite the cruise ships, was was a musuem (currently not open due to refurbishment) that was a replica of one of the command ships from the battle of Trafalgar.

We ended up walking to the town center bit for some shopping, but didn't really take many photos as we didn't feel like there was that much to take photos of! The landscape was lovely, but was marred by, what appeared to be, run down apartment complexes which blocked closer views of the castle they had there!

We ended up walking about 20k steps and headed back to the ship early afternoon, enjoying a beer at one of the outside bars, and having a relaxing afternoon.
