Room and initial thoughts
We booked the cruise rather last minute, so looking at the booking we decided to save some money (to be able to spend on the holiday itself) and let P&O decide our cabin, rather than paying the extra to pick ourselves. This turned out to be a great idea, as we were assigned a lightly upgraded cabin with a very private, albeit slightly smaller, private balcony.
Our room is deck 5, 5336, a GC grade cabin, where we were initially told we could get a GF grade!
The cabin itself is spacious, with a lovely en suite and plenty of wardrobe space. A large TV with a small selection of channels, the standard bow cam which comes with an on board radio station. It also has a lot of "on demand" films and TV shows which more than makes up for the limited selection of channels.
There are lights by the side of either bed, both have USB ports on the bottom of the lights, and only one side has a full plug. There is a decent size mini fridge built in, as well as a comfy sofa.
The bathroom is one of the nicest I've seen on a cruise ship, with a proper shower and glass screen, rather than a curtain. We took a video which can be seen below!
