First day and the restaurants

So setting off from Southampton went very smoothly, in fact we were in a restaurant when we set off!

There are 4 main restaurants on the ship which has the "formal" sit down meals in the evening (Aqua, Pearl, Opal and Coral) and we spent the first evening, and the subsequent evenings, in the Aqua restaurant as it appears to be lightly smaller and a bit more cosier overall compared to the others.

There is one big buffet restaurant, the Horizon, which has several smaller serving areas rather than one central bit, which actually makes getting food easier as less people per area. Another area, called the The Quays, which is one to visit. It's like a small street food area with 3 different types of food, Fish and Chips, Asian and American food.

There is a quick food place near the pool on the upper decks which provide hotdogs, burgers and pizza, and plenty of little cafe like places for cake dotted around the ship.

One thing to watch out for is the ice cream, which is something you do have to pay extra for even though it is food.

Talking about paying extra, there are 4 more restaurants which you can attend which you have to pay extra for, as well as a delivery charge for room service.

The other half of the party has a lactose intolerance, and that has been catered for amazingly on this ship! We will put a separate post about that, but it has been amazing.

On the first night we popped into one of the bars after food and decided to have a bit a cocktail to celebrate the first night, and ended up watching the ships band, called PULSE, who were fantastic!
